Back on track, though, pet doors are extremely useful if you’re training your pet, or simply don’t want to have get up and open the door every time your loved one needs to go do his or her business outside.

We generally ask that customers have purchased a pet door they like already, as there are a huge variety around and some even have microchip sensors so they open and close automatically. Very Star Trek! However, we can supply pet doors, too.

The procedure for installing pet doors is always the same as toughened glass is the only type that can be used for them. Yep, unlike in the movies, we can’t actually cut a hole into existing glass and then throw a pet door in.

Rather, we need to come, measure the panel, measure the pet door, and then cut a piece of glass which is then rebaked to become toughened glass, or grade-A safety glass. Once that’s done, we then come back and remove the existing panel, and then install that glass, along with your pet door.

If you need emergency glass repair, dial our number for instant service. We can almost always get the job done on the same day if required –unless the panel requires a special glass type to be ordered. For example, toughened glass (a form of safety glass) needs to be measured and cut, then rebaked. Thus, no glazing company can install toughened on the same day. However, there are alternatives, such as laminated safety glass.

We always explain the options to our customers, as there’s usually a few when it comes to glazing. However, we always abide by the glazing code (Australian Standard 1288-2006).
