Sound Reducing Glass
If you live on a busy road, or have busy neighbours, well, that’s probably why you’re reading this right now! Michael happens to be a light sleeper, and relates on a deep level. Sound reducing glass does exactly what you think it does, reducing outside noise by around 34%.
As with energy efficient glass, sound reducing glass is a type of laminate safety glass with a special type of polyvinyl interlayer designed to reduce the transfer of sound. This has a number of benefits:
- Reduces noise by around 34%.
- Is grade-A safety glass, so it won’t cut anyone should it break.
- Is incredibly tough, meaning it’s very hard for would-be thieves to get through, and will stand up to the stray backyard football.
- Is significantly cheaper than installing double-glazed units (DGUs), but provides comparable acousting benefits.
There are quite a few names sound reducing acoustic glass goes under, such as ‘hush’, ‘VLamHush’, and more. These are just the various brand names as different manufacturers call it different things, but we only ever use Australian-made glass. It’s just better.

FAIR, FAST GLASS REPAIR
We operate on the principles of fair prices for professionalism, quality workmanship, and rapid response glass repair. And yes, our workmanship is guaranteed.
If you need emergency glass repair, dial our number for instant service. We can almost always get the job done on the same day if required –unless the panel requires a special glass type to be ordered. For example, toughened glass (a form of safety glass) needs to be measured and cut, then rebaked. Thus, no glazing company can install toughened on the same day. However, there are alternatives, such as laminated safety glass.
We always explain the options to our customers, as there’s usually a few when it comes to glazing. However, we always abide by the glazing code (Australian Standard 1288-2006).

- Fully Insured
