Frosted Glass Installations, Repairs & Replacements
Frosted glass, or textured glass, is generally desirable for light diffusion or privacy. We install, replace or repair these glass types around entry doors, or in office partitions, bathrooms, and sometimes in various balustrades.
Over a decade ago, there were far more frosted glass types manufactured than there are today, and this is because the glazing code was updated in 2006 and some of those older types can’t be made into safety glass. Don’t get us wrong, frosted glass, or textured glass, doesn’t always have to be safety glass. But sometimes, for example in the bathroom, it often does.
The most common types of frosted glass, which can also be made into safety glass if necessary or desired, are named according to the way they diffuse light:
- Cathlite, otherwise known as ‘cathedral’;
- Spotswood, which as the name suggests, has lots of little ‘bumps’ on it;
- Satinlite, which has very fine lines through it.
We have many more of these textured glass types available, but the above are most common, and most popular. Each of them is perfect for obscuring what’s behind them, too, without diminishing how much light gets through.

FAIR, FAST GLASS REPAIR
We operate on the principles of fair prices for professionalism, quality workmanship, and rapid response glass repair. And yes, our workmanship is guaranteed.
If you need emergency glass repair, dial our number for instant service. We can almost always get the job done on the same day if required –unless the panel requires a special glass type to be ordered. For example, toughened glass (a form of safety glass) needs to be measured and cut, then rebaked. Thus, no glazing company can install toughened on the same day. However, there are alternatives, such as laminated safety glass.
We always explain the options to our customers, as there’s usually a few when it comes to glazing. However, we always abide by the glazing code (Australian Standard 1288-2006).
- Rapid Response
- Fully Insured
- All works AS1288-2006 Compliant
- Highly trained, experienced staff
- Excellence in customer service
