Energy Efficient Glass

Energy Efficient Glass

There are two major types of energy efficient glass on the market, both of which are forms of laminated safety glass which have various coatings or polyvinyl interlayers applied during the manufacturing process.

These energy efficient glass types come in range of names, from ‘smart glass’, to ‘comfort plus’, ‘thermotech’, ‘soltech’, and more. These actually are just different brand names for the same two options, and all of them come in a range of tints, and are designed so that they don’t really impact natural light entering your home.

The two major types of energy efficient glass are:

  • UV-resistant glass, which lowers UV radiation in your home by 99%, protecting you and your family’s skin from it.
  • Thermal-insulating glass, which improves thermal efficiency by up to 39% by reflecting heat that it encounters, meaning hot summer days are kept outside while the cool aircon is kept inside. The reverse is true for winter. This saves $$$ on your power bills, and adds value to any property.

Which type of energy efficient glass is right for you really comes down to the room(s) it’s going in, and what your major concerns are for those room(s). Damien, Kris, or Michael will be able to advise what will work best for you, so just give us a call.

FAIR, FAST GLASS REPAIR

We operate on the principles of fair prices for professionalism, quality workmanship, and rapid response glass repair. And yes, our workmanship is guaranteed.

If you need emergency glass repair, dial our number for instant service. We can almost always get the job done on the same day if required –unless the panel requires a special glass type to be ordered. For example, toughened glass (a form of safety glass) needs to be measured and cut, then rebaked. Thus, no glazing company can install toughened on the same day. However, there are alternatives, such as laminated safety glass.

We always explain the options to our customers, as there’s usually a few when it comes to glazing. However, we always abide by the glazing code (Australian Standard 1288-2006).

  • Rapid Response
  • Fully Insured
  • All works AS1288-2006 Compliant
  • Highly trained, experienced staff
  • Excellence in customer service
  • Workmanship guaranteed
