Double Glazed Installation & Repairs
If there was a Rolls Royce of residential glass types, it’d be double glazed units. Also known as insulating glass or double glazing, double glazed units are incredibly good at both thermal and acoustic insulation. Why? It comes down to their construction.
Double glazed units are, as the name suggest, a custom-built ‘unit’ that consists of two glass panes within a frame. These two panes have a spacer between them, and it’s within the area of the spacer that an artificial vacuum is created using argon gas. If you’re familiar with the movie Aliens and the phrase “in space, no one can hear you scream”, well, that’s because space is a vacuum! In the same way, the vacuum separating the panes reduces the ability for heat, cold or sound to pass through.
Double glazed units can be made with just about any glass type, from regular float (non-safety glass), through to various types of safety glass, and even energy efficient and sound reducing glass. It all comes down to the space you’ll put it in.
The process for installing double glazed units is always the same, whereby we give an estimate over the phone after getting info from you, and then, if accepted, come to do an on-site measure. Following measurement, double glazed units take around 10 – 12 business days to fabricate, as every single one is custom made.

FAIR, FAST GLASS REPAIR
We operate on the principles of fair prices for professionalism, quality workmanship, and rapid response glass repair. And yes, our workmanship is guaranteed.
If you need emergency glass repair, dial our number for instant service. We can almost always get the job done on the same day if required –unless the panel requires a special glass type to be ordered. For example, toughened glass (a form of safety glass) needs to be measured and cut, then rebaked. Thus, no glazing company can install toughened on the same day. However, there are alternatives, such as laminated safety glass.
We always explain the options to our customers, as there’s usually a few when it comes to glazing. However, we always abide by the glazing code (Australian Standard 1288-2006).
